My first day in Costa Rica was absolutely wonderful! Wow, I am tired so I will keep this short, but I know God has big things in store for this summer... in my life and in Costa Rica.
Talk about provision, I had a chance to say goodbye to my grandparents before flying out. It was precious time that I will cherish forever! Also, last night I flew down in first class (completely unexpectedly) and dined luxuriously. It was so fun being pampered especially since I was not expecting to be served, but rather to come on this trip to serve. The flight attendants and the whole experience was such a beautiful blessing. Our God provides.
When I arrived Alli (Adams) picked me up and we instantly hit it off. She is the head intern down here now that Will Hasley is gone. I met Emma (Hall) at Alli's house and then went to bed. So excited to build these friendships. Today we sat in on seminary classes for Tico pastors after meeting up with the guys (Chris, Matt and David Olsen). What a beautiful day learning about grace. For all my core group, What's So Amazing About Grace totally coincided with today's messages. God's grace and love are so extravagant. In discussion time, we learned that God is in the recycling business... which is exactly what redemption is. Wow! On a silly note, I learned I can lick my elbow! You have to try it. I was blown away that I could do it. Hehe!

I am happy to report that all the other interns made it to Costa Rica safely!!! Praise God! I can't believe how little time is left until I will be down there also! Thanks for your continued prayer! Y'all are awesome and I love all these send off hugs!

Welcome and Thanks for joining me in this new journey!
Hey Everyone,
I am so thankful that you are reading this and joining me on this new adventure to Costa Rica! Knowing so many of you are supporting me especially through prayer is such a blessing and I look forward to keeping you updated on what is going on in this beautiful country.
I'll be heading down to CR on May 30 (a week from today). My missions internship last until August 5 when I return to the States. I will be working with missionaries Ray and Lidia Zirkel through the Methodist Church of Costa Rica. Once I arrive in Central America, I'll be able to give you a better description of exactly what I will be doing and where. As of right now though, I definitely know that I will be doing some interpreting, lots of construction, and putting on Vacation Bible School (VBS) alongside Ticos (nickname for Costa Ricans) and US missions teams.
It is exciting to see how God is going to stretch me and grow me over this summer. I'll periodically add pictures, post prayer requests, tell you about our activities and include other little tid-bits of information. In the mean time, please pray for the safety and ease of travel group of interns heading down on May 26 and my travel on May 30th. Come with me, it will certainly be a blast and I know God is ready to do some big things! Can't wait to share with you!
